New moms Da Brat and wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart aren’t lacking in the romance department.

The hip hop star, 49, and the Kaleidoscope Haircare founder and CEO, 41, welcomed son True Legend in July and are back on the small screen with their latest We TV reality show Brat Loves Judy: The Baby Special which premiered Nov. 30.

“We had the idea of doing something that was especially for him,” Da
Brat says of turning the cameras back on, “We didn’t want to miss
anything and we wanted to make sure we have something for him to look at
when he grows up.”

Still, the couple was particular about preserving some sense of
privacy, cutting back on the usual crew that shoots their reality show.
“We wanted a very limited amount of people in our home,” says
Harris-Dupart of their estate in Alpharetta, Georgia. “And it had to be
people we were comfortable with. You might catch [Da Brat] actually
breastfeeding on camera.”

When it comes to getting back to their romantic relationship
postpartum, the couple admits it took them no time at all. “We don’t
have to do the ‘back up, I’m not there yet,’ when it comes to postpartum
sex,” says Da Brat, who carried their child. While doctors usually
recommend new moms wait weeks to resume sexual activity, the rapper
says, “It was long enough after a couple days.”

Also, explains Harris-Dupart, whose egg was used along with sperm from
an anonymous donor, “We didn’t deliver vaginally, so there’s that. And I
also think we know each other enough to understand [sexual]
invitations.”

Da Brat agrees. When it comes to being on the same page romantically,
“We never have those problems,” she says. “I just love her so much.”

The couple puts their love and a lot more on display in the new
special. “We discuss, are we doing this again and having another one and
if so who’s going to carry,” teases Da Brat. They also get into the
great nanny debate, and how to deal with jealousy or “people being
interested in my wife,” says the star.

In all, “I hope our little baby boy brings people as much joy as he
brings us. And we hope this special inspires and motivates and that
we’re relatable,” says Da Brat.

Most importantly, she adds, “We hope that people understand that they
shouldn’t give up if they want to have children. Do your research, don’t
just believe what someone says. I was 48. And babies are special.
They’re more special than I could ever imagine.”
